What are the precautions for using Shimadzu thermal analysis consumables?

When using Shimadzu thermal analysis consumables, the following points should be noted to ensure the accuracy of the experiment and the stability of the equipment:

1.Sample compatibility:Avoid analyzing samples that will react with metallic aluminum or produce corrosive gases. Before testing, it is necessary to confirm the thermal stability of the sample.

2.Temperature control:The temperature of the injection port should be set reasonably: if it is too low, it may cause incomplete vaporization of high-molecular-weight compounds; if it is too high, it may decompose compounds with poor thermal stability.

3.Consumable maintenance:

  • Liner: Regularly check the amount and position of quartz wool to prevent contamination of the injection needle. Highly active samples need to increase the frequency of liner deactivation inspections.
  • Crucible: After the experiment, the inner wall residues need to be cleaned. Regularly check for wear (such as deformation and cracks) and calibrate to ensure the accuracy of thermal analysis.

4.Instrument Operation Specifications:

  • After the experiment, the lid should not be opened until the temperature drops below 100°C to avoid scalding or damaging the furnace cover
  •  Calibrate the instrument regularly to ensure the accuracy of the data
